David commenced employment with Coopers and Lybrand Actuarial in 1993 as an actuarial analyst. He worked in the Sydney and New York offices before returning to the Melbourne practice of PwC Actuarial in 1998. He left as a Director in 2005, then worked as a freelance consultant. He joined Cumpston Sarjeant in October 2007.

Almost all of David’s actuarial experience is in the field of General insurance and Accident Compensation. Advice to clients included estimation of outstanding claims provisions, premium rating, reinsurance advice, agent remuneration, performance measurement and capital management. The range of clients included insurance companies, self-insuring corporate clients and accident compensation schemes.

David has also been heavily involved in the actuarial education process, and is Honorary Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne.
